Where are the Doilies?
JahDoily originated as the twitter handle of designer and visual artist Anastasia E White. Much of Anastasia’s artistic practice explores her mixed race background, often using doilies to represent European lineages. From this JahDoily was adopted because it combined her Jamaican heritage and fascination of household linens. Over the years JahDoily expanded from twitter to other social media platforms and became Anastasia E White’s online presence. Anastasia views knitting and design as an extension of her artistic practice and as such JahDoily Knits was the natural name choice for her patterns.
